Analyzing the Diurnal Cycle by Bayesian Interpolation on a Sphere for Mapping GNSS Radio Occultation Data

چکیده
Abstract Bayesian interpolation has previously been proposed as a strategy to construct maps of radio occultation (RO) data, but that proposition did not consider the diurnal dimension RO data. In this work, basis functions are extended into domain cycle, thus enabling monthly mapping data in synoptic time and analysis atmospheric tides. The spherical harmonics multiplied by sinusoids cycle up arbitrary harmonic degree harmonic. requires regularizer impose smoothness on fits it produces, thereby preventing overfitting formulation for is most probable values parameters determined. Special care required when obvious gaps sampling known occur order prevent false detection statistically significant high-degree atmosphere. Finally, work probes ability generate valid uncertainty fit. postfit residuals dominated measurement noise unresolved variability atmosphere, which nonuniform across globe, violating central assumption interpolation. problem ameliorated constructing using partially resolve temporal approximately every 3 days

LAGRANGE RO: A GNSS Receiver for Radio Occultation
A GPS Radio Occultation occurs when a transmitting GPS satellite, setting or rising behind the Earth limb, is viewed by a LEO satellite that carries on board a space-qualified GPS receiver. In this way, it is provided a vertical sounding of the atmosphere exploiting the relative motion between the GPS and the LEO satellites. The technique proved to be particularly precise in retrieving temperat...
متن کاملa study on insurer solvency by panel data model: the case of iranian insurance market
the aim of this thesis is an approach for assessing insurer’s solvency for iranian insurance companies. we use of economic data with both time series and cross-sectional variation, thus by using the panel data model will survey the insurer solvency.
Spaceborne GNSS Radio Occultation Instrumentation for Operational Applications
Radio occultation (RO) instruments using GNSS signals are specialised spaceborne receivers designed to provide highly accurate measurements from which one can derive vertical profiles of the temperature, pressure and humidity in the atmosphere, as well as profiles of electron content in the ionosphere. A family of operational RO instruments is being developed for a number of European space proj...
متن کاملTriG - A GNSS Precise Orbit and Radio Occultation Space Receiver
The GPS radio occultation (RO) technique [1] produces measurements in the ionosphere and neutral atmosphere [2] that contribute to monitoring space weather and climate change; and improving operational weather prediction. The high accuracy of RO soundings, traceable to SI standards, makes them ideal climate benchmark observations. For weather applications, RO observations improve the accuracy o...
متن کاملTesting Climate Models Using Infrared Spectra and GNSS Radio Occultation
The Climate Absolute Radiance and Refractivity Observatory will be a climate benchmarking mission intended to include instruments for measuring Earth’s atmospheric refractivity by GNSS radio occultation (RO), high spectral resolution thermal infrared spectra emitted from the Earth, and the spectrally resolved reflected shortwave spectrum. Climate benchmarking is necessary to establish a record ...
